Many pages recently shared a viral story claiming that a Japanese idol performed at a concert even though only one fan showed up. The posts portrayed it as a sad moment about an idol with no audience, but that story is misleading and clickbait.

In reality, the situation was planned as part of a special event for the idol group HKT48. During the celebration of the group’s theater anniversary, fans could participate in a lottery with several prizes.
